Primal Beast Zurvan (星晶獣ズルワーン, Seishō-jū Zuruwān), or simply known as Zurvan (ズルワーン, Zuruwān), is the main antagonist introduced in the Mahou Sensei Negima! collab story on Granblue Fantasy.
Appearance[]
As he is using Nagi Springfield's body as a host, Zurvan look exactly like Nagi, albeit that he has a face tattoo and wears all black clothes.
Zurvan's true form is a giant beast with his head resembles a wolf.

Zurvan was created by a group called "Astrals" with the goal of saving the Sky Realm from destruction. However, the group had no idea how to give Zurvan the god-like powers that they intended him to have, result of the project being slowed down after the Primal Beast was born. Upon despair, the Astrals learned the existence of Nagi Springfield from the other world, believing that his powers could unleash Zurvan's full potential. Eventually, they summoned Nagi from an alternate timeline where he wasn't possessed by the Mage of the Beginning and try to use him as Zurvan's host. While Nagi tried to resist, the amounts of Astrals members fighting him would overwhelming him to be point he had no strength left to defend himself and was captured. Because of this, Zurvan is finally awakened in Nagi's body.
Upon Zurvan's awakening, the Astrals asked him for salvation, Zurvan expressed that he had no interest in saving the Sky Realm and said that if anything, they should save the Magic World instead by destroying the Sky Realm, mostly due to influence from Nagi. The Astrals then find Zurvan too dangerous to be left free so they tried all they can to seal him before it's too late. Once Zurvan was sealed, the project was deemed a failure and they abandoned the laboratory afterwards.
Over 100 years since Zurvan was sealed, he was contacted by Fate Averruncus to form an alliance to save the Magic World with his powers. Zurvan agreed to help Fate with the condition of grant the former freedom once more.
Abilities[]
- Master Spellcaster: As Zurvan is using Nagi's body, he can use all of the latter's spells and has the same destructive powers. Unlike Nagi, Zurvan can do the chant without relying on the notes.
- Reality Warping: As the Primal Beast, Zurvan can manipulate reality by "combining" different realities and timelines into one single universe.
Trivia[]
- Zurvan's character is pretty much based on the Mage of the Beginning. Both Zurvan and Ialda possessed Nagi as their host and they both tried to use Nagi's life as a hostage when they fought Negi in their final battles. Zurvan also intended to use a spell that's functionally similar to Cosmo Entelecheia to "save" the Magic World.
